Week 1 in the NFL and I am so happy that football is back, the hiatus is over. I didn't have a pick on the Carolina/Denver game because the Broncos were getting points at home and it was a revenge game for the Panthers, very good points for both sides, which made it a draw for me. But enough about Thursday night here are my picks for week 1 in the NFL.    

BEST BETS

My FIRST BEST BET is on PHILADELPHIA  at home spotting Cleveland 3 1/2 points. The Browns have lost 11 straight season openers and this will make 12 and they are missing Josh Brown on top of it. Doug Pederson is an Andy Reid protege and that's aces in my book. The Browns have a very soft D and I'm not sure RGIII can win this game by himself. The Eagles defense has to be better than last year's cause they got nowhere to go but up. I don't think this will be a cakewalk for the Eagles but with a line of just 3 1/2 I'm making the Eagles my FIRST BEST BET of the year.

My NEXT BEST BET is on the NEW YORK GIANTS/DALLAS COWBOYS going OVER 46. Yes I know the Boys are without Romo but Zak Prescott is a very good replacement and I think he will throw for a few TDs and probably run for 2 as well. Eli will hit Beckham and Shepard for a TD each. Throw in a few field goals and you got an over. By the way this series is on a 7-0 over run. That's my opinion and I'm sticking with it. I am making the OVER 46 a BEST BET.

REGULAR PLAYS

As for regular plays I like Seattle at home giving Miami 10 points.  I like Tampa Bay on the road getting 2 1/2 points from Atlanta. I like the Pittsburgh/Washington game to go over 50. I like the New England/Arizona game to go over 44 1/2.  And finally I like Oakland on the road getting 2 points from New Olreans.

Well not the Super Bowl I was hoping for but I am happy for Peyton Manning to get his 200th win and another Super Bowl ring. I was not happy with the way Cam handled his post game interview but hopefully he will see it and realize if you can dish it out then you got to be able to take it. Nuf Said. I want to once again thank everyone who has been with me this year and I look forward to another football season in a long 6 months from now. Below are my NFL stats for the regular season and the playoffs. I did end in the black with my playoff picks but did not do that well with my Season picks and maybe next year I will make my regular plays my best bets. LOL

So here we are the Super Bowl the final game of the 2015-16 NFL football season. This is always a bittersweet game for me because after Sunday night we will have to go through football withdrawl for many many months. The good news is that I will be in the black with my playoff picks no matter what I pick on the big game. So without further adieu here are my picks for SUPER BOWL 50 between the Denver Broncos and the Carolina Panthers. I am posting my picks on Friday as the line has not moved the whole week, also below are my playoff stats so far. I just saw at 9:00 pm EST on Saturday that the line dropped to 4 1/2 Carolina.

NFL PLAYOFF STATS 

BEST BETS    5-3 ATS  5-3 SU

Regular Plays  6-1 ATS  7-0 SU

My BEST BET on the Super Bowl is for the CAROLINA PANTHERS/DENVER BRONCOS to go OVER the total of 44. I feel like this is the stronger bet on the game as Carolina can score and can be scored on and if Denver is to have a chance to win this game then they will have to score into the mid to high 20s as I feel the Panthers will score at least that much and most likely more. So with an O/U of only 44 I feel like this game could go over the total long before the game is over.  I am taking the OVER 44 as my BEST BET of the Super Bowl.

I like the Carolina Panthers  minus the 4 1/2 points over the Denver Broncos.

WOW I am very happy about my results in the playoffs as I am 4-2 ATS with my best bets and 5-1 ATS with my regular plays, and winning is winning in my book. The sad part of this post is that there is only 3 games left in this football season and soon we will have to go through football withdrawl, not my favorite thing to do. LOL So it's New England in Denver and Arizona in Carolina. So once again the AFC quarterback will either be Peyton Manning or Tom Brady since 2003 only Big Ben and Joe Flacco have been lucky enough to be the qb for the AFC, that's impressive. So below are my opinions and picks on the Conference Championship games and my playoff stats so far.

My FIRST BEST BET this weekend is on the NEW ENGLAND PATRIOTS on the road giving 3 points to the Denver Broncos. After watching both games last weekend how anybody thinks the Broncos have a chance with Peyton behind center is beyond my intelligence. The Denver offense was at best offensive and they should buy the defense an expensive gift just for getting them this far. Brady and Belichick will come up with a plan like last week to counter the Broncos' defense and they will put Manning under the gun to try and catch up which will NOT happen. To me spotting Denver only 3 points is another gift from the bookie gods. The Pats will win this game going away. I am taking the Patriots as my first BEST BET of the weekend.

My LAST BEST BET this weekend is on the CAROLINA PANTHERS spotting the Arizona Cardinals 3 points. These 2 teams have played each other enough that you can get a handle on the game. The fact that the weather is not conducive to a dome team makes this pick even easier for me. The storm that hit Charlotte on late Friday and into Saturday only gives the Cardinals a day to practice on a field that is grass and most likely a bit soggy from the snow. This is Cam's time and I think we will see him in the Super Bowl. I am taking the Panthers to cover easily in this game my last BEST BET of the weekend.

I had a nice start last week in the playoffs going 2-1 ATS with my best bets and my regular plays. I must admit a couple of the games had a surprise ending. The Steelers/Bengals game had an out of control ending when the Bengals defense had a total meltdown which cost them not 1 but 2 15 yard penalities that put Pitt in position to kick the winning field goal. The Vikings/Seahawks game was totally dominated by the Vikings until the Seahawks had a 4th quarter comeback to go up by a point. And the poor Vikes kicker, Blair Walsh, who had kicked 3 field goals in the game missed a chip shot that would have given them the win. The Chiefs were AWESOME and the Packers got their mojo back against the Skins, and with that win ALL FOUR road teams won this weekend, the first time in NFL history. So here we are in the Divisional Playoff weekend and below are my playoff stats and my picks for this weekend.

My FIRST BEST BET this weekend is on the GREEN BAY PACKERS/ARIZONA CARDINALS to go OVER 50. The last time these 2 met the Packers were in a bad funk and they had Minnesota on deck for the Division championship and they scored just 8 points. The Cardinals punished Green Bay putting up 38 points on them, making the total on the game 46. I think the Cardinals will get there share of points again but this time Green Bay will score a whole lot more than 8 I'm looking at the Packers scoring in the high 20's or more now that Rodgers and McCarthy finally got on the same page last week. I see this game ending up in the high 50s and that's an over in my book. I am making the OVER in this game my first BEST BET of the weekend.

My NEXT BEST BET this weekend is on the GREEN BAY PACKERS on the road getting 7 1/2 points from the Arizona Cardinals. Revenge games have always been one of my favorite plays and with the Packers getting over a touchdown in this game it's enough enticement for me to take the points. As I said in the above over pick Green Bay was hurting especially on the offensive line and Rodgers looked like a rookie quarterback. I don't believe the Cardinals are going to walk away with this game, the Packers will come to play and this game is going to go down to who has the ball last and with 7 1/2 points a touchdown by Arizona will still be a cover for me. I am taking the Packers with the points in this game as my next BEST BET of the weekend.

My LAST BET is on the CAROLINA PANTHERS at home spotting the Seattle Seahawks 1 1/2 points. This game for me has the same feel as the Alabama/Clemson game, the Panthers went 15-1 in the regular season, beat the Seahawks in Seattle and they are barely favorites in this game. NO RESPECT to me is enough motiviation for any team much less a home team that already beat the team they are playing. I have no problem at all laying a point and half with the Panthers, as they will show everyone they are for real. I am making them my last BEST BET for this weekend.

I like Pittsburgh on the road getting 7 1/2 points from Denver.
