Well here we are in week 3 already of the college football season, and I for one am very happy that there is football on almost everyday. A very big game is on tap for this weekend, between Alabama and Texas A&M and I will be very happy if the Crimson Tide knocks Johnny Football down a peg or two, we shall see. Below are my picks for this weekend's college football card.

My first best bet is on the LOUISVILLE CARDINALS on the road at Kentucky laying 14 points. I would have liked this line to stay under 2 TDs but I think everyone who follows football knows that Louisville's QB Teddy Bridgewater is for real and will be a Heisman contender. Louisville has won and covered the last 2 against Kentucky and I don't see that trend changing. The road team in this matchup is 4-1 ATS and after Saturday it will be 5-1 ATS. I can't see the Cardinals taking their foot off the gas pedal as they try and move up the polls from their 7 spot at the moment. This is definitely one of my stronger BEST BETS, take Louisville in a rout.

My next best bet is on the STANFORD CARDINAL on the road spotting Army 30 points. My first question about this game is who in the Army football program scheduled Stanford, are you kidding me, really Stanford??? The one and ONLY reason Stanford would not cover this game is because they pulled their 1st, 2nd and 3rd string players and possibly being a west coast team they are playing at noon which for them is 9 o'clock in the morning. However, they are bigger, stronger and faster than Army so I for one think the Cardinal will win this game going away, make Stanford a BEST BET.

My last best bet this weekend is on the FLORIDA STATE SEMINOLES at home giving Nevada 34 1/2 points. I am happy that the line on this game stayed under 5 TDs because maybe by the time the half comes FSU may already have covered this number and pull their starters, but with Bethune Cookman their next game they will definitely be focused on Nevada which is really bad news for the Wolfpack. These 2 teams have never met and I'm guessing after Saturday that Nevada will not schedule FSU again no matter how much money they get. This is my last stong play this weekend and I will make Florida State a BEST BET.

I do have some regular plays that were oh so close to being best bets. They are - Pittsburgh at home spotting New Mexico 22 points, Maryland on the road giving Connecticut 6 1/2 points, Northern Illinois on the road spotting Idaho 28 1/2 points and what I hope is a romp, Alabama on the road at Texas A&M laying 7 points.

As for over/unders I like the over 58 1/2 in the Kansas/Rice game, the over 62 1/2 in the Bowling Green/Indiana game, Western Kentucky/South Alabama over 55, and finally I like the over 62 1/2 in the Louisville/Kentucky game.

Well that's it for this week in college football, and may the best team win in the Alabama/Texas A&M game, and like I always say

Bet with your head and not over it.

Well it was a tough loss as Oklahoma State was covering most of the game and then let UTSA backdoor cover them, but that's the nature of the beast. As for Oklahoma they just looked horrible. My one saving grace was Ball State who did not disappoint. My regular plays swept the board this week so I hope you put a few pesos on them. Here are this week's stats as well as my cummalative stats for college.

COLLEGE WEEK 2 STATS

BEST BETS      1-2 ATS and 3-0 SU

Regular Plays   3-0 ATS and 3-0 SU

Underdogs       0-3 ATS and 0-3 SU

Over/Unders    1-2 ATS

COLLEGE OVERALL STATS

BEST BETS      4-2 ATS and 6-0 SU

Regular Plays   4-2 ATS and 6-0 SU

Underdogs       1-5 ATS and 0-6 SU

Over/Unders    2-4 ATS

I will be back late Thursday night or Friday with my college picks for the upcoming week.

Thanks for visiting this website and please tell your friends.

Well it sure was nice starting off 3-0 ATS with my best bets, you just can't do any better than that. So my first question after week 1 is, will Eastern Washington and McNeese State be FBS teams next year. LOL Anyway without further delay here are my college picks for Week 2.

My first best bet this week is the same as last week, OKLAHOMA STATE on the road giving Texas San-Antonio 26 points. First of all I had to look up what UTSA's team name was, and for those of you who don't know it is the Roadrunners. I got to watch the Okie State game last week against Mississippi State and I thought their defense was much better than their offense. However, this week with a game under their belts the Cowboys offense will easily double their points against a overmatched UTSA team. This game looks like a blowout to me so I'm laying the points and taking the Cowboys as a BEST BET.

My next best bet is OKLAHOMA at home giving West Virginia 20 1/2 points. I didn't see the WVU game as they were playing William & Mary and barely beat them, while Oklahoma shutout ULM. The Mountaineers only lost by a point last year to the Sooners but that's when they had Geno Smith. This is West Virginia's opening road game and with a new QB in a hostile environment I just don't see them in this game. Okie covers the points and wins this game going away, the Sooners are a BEST BET.

My last best bet is BALL STATE at home giving Army 7 1/2 points. Both teams played FCS teams last week but Ball State scored 51 points while Army could only manage to score 28. Army is not a good road team going 0-4 ATS their last 4 games away. Ball State can score and Army doesn't have a passing attack to catch up. This to me adds up to be a very comfortable win for home team. Ball State to win and cover the spread as my last BEST BET

As for games I feel are worth calling regular plays, I like Penn State at home giving Eastern Michigan 24 points. Ohio State at home giving San Diego State 271/2 points, and finally North Carolina at home giving Middle Tennessee State 17 1/2 points.

There are a few underdogs I think not only have a chance of covering but winning outright. They are Air Force at home getting 9 1/2 points from Utah State, South Carolina on the road getting 3 1/2 points from Georgia and finally Memphis at home getting 4 points from Duke.

The over/unders picks in college football this week are Cincinnati at Illinois over 54 1/2, San Diego State at Ohio State over 56, and last but not least I like Hawaii at Oregon State over the 55 1/2.

I will be back Saturday night with my first pro picks of the season.

As always, remember to bet with your head and not over it.

What a great way to start off on my new website by going 3-0 ATS with my best bets. I love it not only for the website but also for our pockets. Below are my weekly stats for ATS and SU. I post my stats every week for both college and the pros, and you can always go back in my articles to see that I am not making them up or fudging them in anyway, they are what they are. Thanks to all the people that read my picks this past week and I hope you come back again and maybe bring some friends.

COLLEGE WEEK ONE STATS

BEST BETS      3-0 ATS and 3-0 SU

Regular Plays   1-2 ATS and 2-0 SU

Underdogs       1-2 ATS and 0-3 SU

Over/Unders    1-2 ATS

I will be back on Thursday with my college picks for week 2 and I may or may not have a pick on the pro game going Thursday night between the Ravens and the Broncos.

Here are my first official college football picks for this new website, hopefully I will start off on the right foot. So let's get started.

My first best bet of this 2013 college season is OKLAHOMA STATE at home on Saturday 8/31 giving 12 1/2 points to Mississippi State. Let I said I love stats and this game has quite a few favoring the Cowboys. Okie State is 7-3 ATS their last 10 non-conference games while Miss. State last year was 0-4 ATS against ranked teams losing by an average of 23 ppg . Miss. State also ended the 2012 season the last 6 games going 1-5 ATS. In addition Okie State on offense averaged 45 ppg last year, while Miss. State only averaged 29 ppg which is what Okie State gave up. This game is being played on a neutral site and the Cowboys went 11-4 ATS as away favorites while the Bulldogs went a dismal 1-8 ATS as away underdogs. Everything in my mind points to a comfortable win and cover for Okie State making this a BEST BET.

My next best bet is on FLORIDA STATE, Monday 9/2 on the road giving Pittsburgh 10 points. This is Pittsburgh's initiation into the ACC from the Big East and what a way to start against a FSU team who has their sites set on the National championship game. This pick is not based on stats as the Noles are not good on away night games and were a horrible 0-6 ATS as away favorites, but with that being said, they did win 5 of those 6 games outright, and I can attest to the fact that a lot of those lines were very high pointspreads. I just feel that FSU will be able to cover this 10 point spread so I am making them another BEST BET.

My last best bet for this week is on NORTH TEXAS on Saturday 8/31 at home giving Idaho 14 1/2 points. The major reason is that Idaho is 1-12 in road openers and North Texas has beaten the Vandals 4 out of the last 5 meetings between these two teams. To add to this pick North Texas is returning 17 starters while Idaho is only returning 10 for new head coach Petrino. North Texas has also won the last 4 meetings by an average score of 34-18, which in my book is a win and a cover. North Texas is my last best bet of the first weekend.

I have a few other games that I consider regular plays and certainly worth a few schillings, or if you live in America a few bucks.

I like Nebraska at home spotting Wyoming 28 points, Also Cincinnati at home giving Purdue 10 1/2 points and finally Southern Miss at home giving Texas State 7 1/2.

As for underdogs I like Tulsa on the road getting 3 points from Bowling Green, SMU at home getting 5 1/2 from Texas Tech and finally I like Toledo on the road getting 23 1/2 points from Florida. (I know some of you are saying REALLY taking Toledo in the Swamp, yes you read right.)

Over/Unders this early are hard to predict as I have not seen any of these teams play yet but I do like FIU and Maryland over 49 1/2, Purdue and Cincinnati over 50 1/2 and finally USC and Hawaii over 53 1/2

Well that's it for Week 1, and all I can say is WELCOME BACK football I know I missed ya.

And as I like to end all my picks -

Always remember to bet with your head and not over it.
