Week 7 and college is still playing and more teams will be on the docket next week. What a game the Texas/Oklahoma was as Texas fought back in the 4th qtr scoring 2 tds late forcing the game into OT to only lose it in the end to Okie. Miami got its clock cleaned by Clemson so I feel sorry for Pitt who has to play a very angry Canes team this week in Miami. Also there is no doubt about it that LSU is NOT the same team without Joe Burrow as they proved last week losing to Mizzou, WOW. Anyway below are my picks for this week in college.

My first pick is the SMU/Tulane game on Friday night going over 64.  This game has gone over 5 of their last 7 meetings. Houston last week put up 49 points on Tulane and I can see SMU putting up at least that much. Tulane is averaging 30 points a game so this game should fly over 64. I like the over here.

My next pick is the BYU/Houston game on Friday night going over 62. Houston came out of the gate last week after having several games postponed scoring 49 points on Tulane, but also gave up 31. BYU actually has a decent offense this year and there is no doubt in my mind that they will score multiple times on Houston. I like this game to go over the 62 number by double digits.

My next pick is West Virginia at home giving 22 points to Kansas. Kansas has been outscored 94 to 21 the past 2 games and it won't get any better this week against a WVU team coming off a BYE. The Moutaineers will win this game by at least 28 points if not more. Give me West Virginia to clock the Jayhawks.

My last pick is North Carolina on the road giving 13 points to Florida State.  I told you last week that the Tar Heels were on my radar and with FSU in total disarray I will take UNC to put another nail in their coffin. Love UNC here to add to FSU's woes.

Some of the other games on my radar were Texas A&M by 5 over Mississippi State but A&M is coming off a big win and MSU is coming off an embarrassing loss, so who shows up for both teams. I also like the over 56 in the Georgia/Alabama game but if both teams decide to play defense it might not happen. I also think Miami will bounce back against Pittsburgh but I don't like laying 13 1/2 points against a good Pitt defense. I like Clemson to beat up on Georgia Tech but with the line at 27 will Clemson bence their starters in the 2nd half and let GT backdoor cover the number. I think Notre Dame will beat Louisville but 17 points with a decent Cardinals offense seems a bit much and finally I like Boston College getting 12 from Virginia Tech. BTW I did like Tulsa at home getting points from Cincinnati but the game got postponed.

I will be back late Saturday night with my NFL picks.

So here we are in week 6 of the college season and we are very happy about that. LOL Looks like the BIG10 and PAC12 along with the MAC will soon be back in the mix and that will be a good thing. I had just a so-so week last week as Cincy pushed, KSU covered, VT didn't cover but won and the SMU/Memphis game got close to the over but no cigar. I also heard this week that Baylor will be suspending playing football but I don't know for how long. So let's see how we do this week in college football.

My first pick is LSU on the road giving 14 points to Missouri.  This game was moved from Baton Rouge as yet another storm is going to hit Louisiana, so sad for them. At this point I don't think where the game is going to be played makes a whole lot of difference considering fans are no longer an added benefit to the home team. LSU would be favored in this game by 28+ points last year but this is a brand new team after losing so many players to the pros. However, they are still LSU and well Missouri is still not in their class. So if I can get LSU at minus 2 tds I am going to jump on it. Go Tigers and I mean the ones from LSU.

My next pick is the Texas/Oklahoma game going over 72. This game has gone under the last 2 years but the o/u numbers were 77 and 80. This number to me is much more doable as both teams are scoring in the 30s so 72 is not much of a stretch to me. The weather will be perfect, it will sunny in the 70s with no wind and no rain. Sounds like the perfect weather for a good old fashion shootout.

My next pick is Miami, Fl on the road getting 15 points from Clemson. Miami is getting their swag back and I think they will stay in this game with Clemson. I don't know about winning outright but I do believe they will make this game respectable and I like getting 15 points with the U. This game will go a long ways of how much the Hurricanes have come in the last year. Give me the points and give me Miami.

My last pick is Syracuse at home getting a point from Duke.  I watched Cuse last week against GT and they seem to have woken up offensively after playing 2 very tough teams in Pittsburgh and UNC. Duke has not won a game yet this year and I believe the Orangemen will keep them winless for another week. Give me Syracuse at home getting a point which I believe they will not even need. Cuse Outright. LOL

Some of the other games on my radar were Florida over A&M by 5 but something about this line seems fishy.  I also liked the Alaabama/Mississippi  game to go over 69 but that would mean Mississippi would have to score at least 4 touchdowns.  I also think South Carolina will beat Vanderbilt but laying 14 seemed like a bit much, for a team that's 0-2. I also think the Kansas State/TCU game could go over 50 but I can't figure out why this line is so low.  Other overs I liked but not as much as my 4 picks above are Notre Dame to beat FSU by 20, the Coastal Carolina/ULLAF game over 50 and finally Boston College getting 6 1/2 from Pittsburgh.

I will be back late Saturday night with my NFL picks.

I would like to do a shout out to my therapist, Stephanie, who nursed my hamstring back to health, thanks Steph. Back to football, I only picked 3 games last week and the only one that really ticked me off was losing the Alabama game on a backdoor cover with FOUR SECONDS left, needless to say that one is still smarting. Anyway with more and more college games to watch I at least have a slightly better handle on what teams have and what they don't have. Anyway the good news is only 2 games have been postponed this weekend so let's keep our fingers crossed that soon all the games will be played. So below are the games I like and also comments on why I didn't pick other games that were on my radar.

My first pick is Cincinnati at home giving 21 points to South Florida.  There really isn't much to say here except the Bearcats are good and the Bulls are not. This will not be a look ahead game for Cincy as they have a BYE next week. I am however bucking my usual streak play as USF has covered the last 5 but Cincy has won the last 2 SU after dropping 3 SU to USF before that. So I look for the Bearcats to win and cover this 3 TD spread by at least 10. Bearcats in a rout.

My next pick is the Memphis/SMU game going over 74. To me the only things that would prevent this game from going over is either the weather or injuries. I checked the weather and it will be Sunny 80 degrees, no rain and very little wind, so I've eliminated the weather. With that being said this game could go into the mid 80s to low 90s. The Mustangs scored 50 last week and 65 the week before. Memphis hasn't played since September 5th  so I am sure their offense is ready to roll. This score could come close to matching an Arena Football score.

My next pick is Virginia Tech on the road to cover the 11 points against Duke. I got to watch Duke and their offense the past 3 games are averaging 13 ppg and that won't cut it against the Hokies as they have my favorite kind of game on their mind...revenge.. Duke beat VT last year in Blacksburg 45-10 and I am sure they can't wait to return the favor this year in Durham. Look for VT to roll up the score to settle the score. Give me the Hokies to cover.

My last pick is Kansas State at home to cover the 2 points against Texas Tech. I watched last week as KSU came back and beat Oklahoma in Norman, not an easy feat to say the least. Texas Tech lost a heartbreak last week to Texas in OT. The reason I like the Wildcats here is that they have to be skyhigh after last week so I am sure that had to carry over to this week's practices, while the Red Raiders have to be down after battling Texas for 4 qtrs only to lose it in the first OT. KSU has won and covered the last 3 against TT so I see no reason that streak will not continue. Yeah yeah I know I bucked the streak in the Cincy game but not here but that is a woman's prerogative to change her mind. LOL Give me the Wildcats to cover this small 2 point spread.

I added this comment section last week to the NFL and I thought I would add it here for college. Some of the other games on my radar were Baylor but a little scared of WVU for some reason. I also liked the Cincinnati game to go over 46 but that would mean USF would have to score. I also think Mississippi State will beat Arkansas but laying 18 seemed like a bit much, even for a Mike Leach offense. I also think the TCU/Texas game could go over 63 but not really sure about TCU's offense. Other overs I liked but not as much as my 4 picks above are the TT/KSU game over 64, the So. Miss/North Texas game over 72 1/2 and finally the Okie/ISU game over 63 1/2.

I will be back late Saturday night with my NFL picks.

I had a decent week in college last week as Miami covered outright and the game going well over the total. UCF covered against GT, while my only loss was the Tulsa/Okie State game going over as the Cowboys lost their starting qb and ended up finishing the game with their 3rd stringer. The SEC is back this week and I hope all goes well with them. There were 5 games postponed this weekend so not as many as usual this time of the season to pick from but I will do my best. I don't really like alot this week but I do have a few games listed below that I do like.

My first pick is Alabama on the road to cover the 28 points against Missouri.  This is the first game for both of these teams and I believe that the Tide will be much better prepared for their opener than Missouri. I look for Bama to take control of this game from the get go and never look back. ROLL TIDE !!

My next pick is Baylor at home to cover the 17 points against Kansas.  This is the first game for Baylor as Kansas has a game under their belt but being a streak player, you know you can only lose a streak once so I look for Baylor to cover to keep their 8 game streak ATS alive and make it 9 against the Jayhawks. Give me the Baylor Bears to win this game by at least three tds.

My last pick is UCF on the road to cover the 27 points against East Carolina. I watched GT get their butt kicked last week by UCF losing by 4 tds. This is the Pirates first game and they are not going to have a very nice welcoming back to football as the Knights are going to score on them and score on them often. ECU may score a few points but not enough to backdoor cover this number. I like the Knights here.

I will be back late Saturday night with my picks on the NFL.

Well it looks like the BIG10 will be playing football in October if all goes well, but it will be tough on the kids as they will have to play 8 games in a row without a bye week to recoop, it will be interesting to see what happens there. I'm not very happy with Clemson last Saturday as they could have beat Wake by at least 40 points but decided to sit Lawrence all but one series in the second half. I also can't figure out whether Duke is actually good or Notre Dame was not ready for primetime football, this week will give us that answer. Army looks like they are in midseason form as they have outscored their first 2 opponents 79 to 7. So I don't really like alot this week but I do have a few games listed below that I do like.

My first pick for Saturday is the Tulsa/Oklahoma State game going over 66. Both teams can score in this game as the past 4 games have all gone over 60 and have covered 3 out of the 4, with last year's score missing by a field goal. And here are a few stats to justify my pick., Okie State is 38-16-2 over at home, and Tulsa is 5-2 over last 7 against the Big12. I like the over here. I also like Okie State to cover the 21 point spread against Tulsa as the Cowboys got to practice while the Golden Hurricanes were in COVID-19 quarantine.

My next pick is Miami, Fl with the 2 1/2 points against Louisville.  For once I am going against my revenge theory as Miami beat Louisville last year in Miami 52-27. Both teams have a game under their belt and both of them won. However, I just feel on both sides of the ball Miami is the stronger team and with them getting points I do like them. I am taking the points but I think Miami wins this game outright. I also think this game can go OVER the the 63 posted total.

My last pick is UCF to cover the 7 points against Georgia Tech. I watched GT last week as they beat a very overrated FSU team. I think the will come back down to earth this week against a much stronger opponent in the Knights. UCF's defense is much better than Florida State's and the fact that the Yellow Jackets only scored 16 on FSU I just don't see how they will score more against this UCF's defense, but I do see UCF scoring more than 13 against GT's defense. I like the Knights here.

I will be back late Saturday night with my picks on the NFL. So glad football is back, no matter how it looks in the stands.
