So the NFL season started on Thursday and if it is any indication of how this season will go, the flags will be flying for some of what I would call ticky tacky penalties. I was not impressed with either team on Thursday but especially that the Falcons could not finish a drive with a TD. So welcome to the 2018 NFL season and let's hope I have another season in the black with my picks. I use Covers to get my lines so below are my picks for week 1 in the NFL.

BEST BETS

My FIRST BEST BET is on the BALTIMORE RAVENS at home giving 7 points to the Buffalo Bills. I am concerned that the Bills are starting Peterman instead of Allen or McCarron. I look for the Ravens defense and offense to take control of this game. I like the Ravens here.

My NEXT BEST BET is on the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS at home spotting the Tampa Bay Bucs 8 points. The Bucs are without Winston for the first 3 games and even though Kirkpatrick is a good qb I just don't think he can keep up with Brees point for point. It's a lot of points but for a good reason Kirkpatrick is not Winston.

My NEXT BEST BET is on the LOS ANGELES CHARGERS at home giving 3 points to the Kansas City Chiefs. So I did get to see a little of the starters for the Chargers in the preseason and I liked what I saw. The Chargers have a pass rush even if Bosa doesn't play and Mahomes will find himself rushing his throws which could lead to INTs. I think the Chargers come out of the gate making a statement.
