So here we are with the start of the college bowl season which includes 35 bowl games. I do my picks differently for the bowl games. I will have best bets, regular plays and "just an opinion" for those who might want to know which way I am leaning. So with the first 4 games on Saturday December 21st, here are my picks.
I have a BEST BET on the OVER 65 1/2 in the Gildan New Mexico Bowl between Washington State and Colorado State. Both these teams can score but I believe Mike Leash's philosphy of football is throw the ball and often if not every down. WSU also gives up a lot of points so that should put the CSU Rams in the end zone quite a bit as well, and if this game does go into overtime 65 1/2 will be well back in the rear view mirror. I see both of these teams scoring at least 5 TDs with the last score being the winning score. So I am making the OVER 65 1/2 in the Washington State/Colorado State bowl game a BEST BET.
I also have a regular play on USC minus 6 points against Fresno State in the Las Vegas Bowl. I think USC can stop the Fresno State offensive frieght train and score enough to cover the spread.
And I have a regular play on Buffalo getting 1 1/2 points from San Diego State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl. These are 2 pretty well matched teams as the line suggests. I think Buffalo will fare better in the cold in Idaho than San Diego State.
I do have an opinion on the New Orleans Bowl and I am leaning towards Tulane only if Broadway doesn't play, as ULL really takes a big drop down in quarterbacking if he is out.
Well that's it for my bowl picks for Saturday, I will be back late Sunday with a few more picks for the bowl games coming up next week.
As always remember to bet with your head and not over it.
