Well it seems that NFL games this year are not for the faint of heart as there have been in my estimation more upsets then I can remember in years. As for the call in the Pats/Jets game are you kidding me, what the heck was that?? There wasn't a snowball's chance that field goal was going to be good, so why call a penaly that in my 50 years of watching football I never heard called, I don't get it. Anyway, enough ranting about bogus calls here are my picks for this week in the NFL, there are only a few as 6 teams are on byes this week and I didn't have a pick on the Carolina/Tampa Bay game and I'm still trying to figure out why as the Panthers have been on a roll and the Buc are winless.
My first best bet this weekend is on the SEATTLE SEAHAWKS on the road on Monday night giving the St. Louis Rams 11 points. If Sam Bradford was the QB in this game I might think this was a more difficult pick but Clemens starting well I just don't see the Rams in this game with him at the helm seeing he hasn't started a game since 2011. The Seahawks have the 49ers breathing down their necks and they just can't afford to lose a game especially to a 2nd string quarterback. I look for them to take control of this game early and stay in front until the final gun. My money this week is on the Hawks as my first BEST BET.
My next best bet and last one this week is on the SAN FRANCISCO 49ERS on the road giving the Jacksonville Jaguars 14 1/2 points. I just wish I could say something positive about the Jags but I just can't they are just plain awful, even worse than my Giants. I will use the same philosphy on this game that I did on my other best bet and that is the 49ers just can't lose to a team like the Jags. Kapernick is finally coming out of his slump and the offense and defense are coming to life. That is not good news for Jacksonvile who are trying to lose the goose egg. Look for the 49ers to run and pass on the Jags D and put this game away sometime in the second half. I am making the 49ers a BEST BET.
As for regular plays I like the New Orleans Saints at home against the Buffalo Bills to cover the 11 points, and I like the New England Patriots at home giving the Miami Dolphins 6 1/2 points.
My underdog plays this week are the Atlanta Falcons on the road at Arizona getting a point, the Washington Redskins on the road at Denver getting 13 points.
My over/under plays for this week are - Washington Redskins/Denver Broncos over the 58 1/2, Buffalo Bills/New Orleans Saints over 48, and last but not least the Seattle Seahakws/St. Louis Rams over 42 1/2.
