2017 NFL WEEK 17 PICKS

This is a very sad day indeed as it is the last week of the regular NFL football season. Our football season comes and goes so fast it's hard to believe that in a little over a month we have to go thru withdrawl again. BUT it is what it is and I guess I will just have to suck it up. I must admit after first looking at the lines for this week's games I really can't find a lot that I like, but I will give it my best shot. So with great sadness here are my picks for this last week of the regular season in the NFL.

BEST BETS

My FIRST BEST BET is on the WASHINGTON REDSKINS on the road giving 3 points to the New York Giants. I am so disappointed in my Giants this year and after more chaos with the Eli Apple situation this week I can't se how they could possibly be focused on this game. I think the Redskins win this game by double digits and it will bring to a close one of the worst seasons in Giants history. I am making Washington my FIRST BEST BET.

My NEXT BEST BET is on the MINNESOTA VIKINGS at home spotting the Chicago Bears 11 points. The Vikings clinch a first round bye with a win here and I think they will take control of this game from the get go and win this game and not have to wait till the afternoon games to back into a first round bye. The Vikes defense will either shutout the Bears or maybe allow a late td. The Vikings are my NEXT BEST BET.

My NEXT BEST BET is on the NEW ORLEANS SAINTS on the road giving 5 points to the Tampa Bay Bucs. I know this is a must win for the Saints and usually that is not a good scenario this time of the year, but something tells me that the Saints with Brees and his running backs as well as his receivers will pull this one off and get a home game in the playoffs. The Saints are my NEXT BEST BET.

My LAST BEST BET is on the PITTSBURGH STEELERS at home giving 6 points to the Cleveland Browns. There is no doubt in my mind that the starters for the Steelers will not be playing this whole game or even part of it. However, I can't see their second stringers being the team that the Browns beat to get off the snide, so I like the Steelers here to cover this small number and leave Cleveland winless this year. The Steelers are my LAST BEST BET.

REGULAR PLAYS

As for regular plays I like the San Francisco 49ers on the road giving the Los Angeles Rams 4 points. Other regular plays I like are Indianapolis at home giving the Houston Texans 5 points. I also like the Jacksonville Jaguars on the road getting 3 points from the Tennessee Titans. I like the Los Angeles Chargers at home spotting the Oakland Raiders 7 points. And finally for my last pick in the regular season I like the Buffalo Bills on the road giving 2 points to the Miami Dolphins.

I will be back very late Sunday night with college bowl picks on the last 5 bowl games before the college championship game on January 8th.
