A good week for my college picks as both my best bets and regular plays were in the black. Kudos to Clemson for beating Louisville and even more kudos to Washington for destroying Stanford. This college season is shaping up nicely as the cream is starting to rise to the top. I did no bandwagon jumping this week so below are my college week 5 and season stats. I will update my stats every week during the football season for both college and pros.

WEEK 5 STATS

BEST BETS    3-1 ATS and 3-1 SU

REGULAR PLAYS 4-3 ATS and 5-2 SU

2016 SEASON STATS

BEST BETS          9-8 ATS and 14-3 SU

REGULAR PLAYS  20-12-1 ATS and 26-6-1 SU

I will be out of town this weekend and my very good friend Moose the Greek will be putting out his plays for the upcoming weekend. Go get em Moose.

And as always  - Remember to bet with your head and not over it.

I had one best bet and one regular play on Thursday and I am happy to say that they both hit so that's a nice way to start off the weekend, especially after last week falling into the red with my best bets. So the oddsmakers have now had 4 weeks to get the lines right and I think this week's lines proved that. I do like quite a few games this week but the lines on some games have kept me off. So here are the rest of my picks for week 5 in college football.

BEST BETS

My NEXT BEST BET is on OHIO STATE at home spotting Rutgers 38 points. I know this line is really high but looking back on the last 2 times these teams have met, last yr the Scarlet Knights lost by 42 and the year before by 39, so you can see why the line is high. However, this Buckeye team went to Norman and beat Oklahoma by 21 so home against Rutgers poses no threat to me. I will take the Buckeyes minus the points as my next BEST BET.

My NEXT BEST BET is on NAVY on the road getting 7 1/2 points from Air Force. I must admit once again I can't believe we can get Navy with 7 1/2 points. Navy has won 3 of the last 4 head to head games and has covered 8 of the last 10. I don't know if Navy will win this game outright by over a td is definitely worth taking in my book.  So gimme the points and maybe the outright win and make the Midshipmen BEST BET.

My LAST BEST BET is on MARYLAND at home giving 10 points to Purdue. The Terrapins are 3-0 and believe it or not 1 more win will give them more wins then they had all of last year. Maryland has scored 123 points the first 3 games, 2 of the games were on the road, while Purdue has scored 89 but all those points were at home, and this is their first road game this year. I look for Maryland to go to 4-0 and cover the 10 point spread. I am making Maryland minus the points my last BEST BET.

REGULAR PLAYS

As for regular plays I like the Memphis/Mississippi game to go over 67. I like San Diego State on the road giving 18 1/2 points to South Alabama. I like the Western Michigan/Central Michigan game to go over 58. I like the Troy/Idaho  game to go over 58. I like the South Florida/Cincinnati game to go over 63. And finally I like Alabama at home giving 35 points to Kentucky.

Well that's it for this week in college football, I will be back next week with more college picks. I will be back Saturday night with my NFL picks.

And as always  - Remember to bet with your head and not over it.

I have a BEST BET on HOUSTON at home giving 27 1/2 points to UConn. The Cougars will get revenge on UConn that gave Houston its only loss last year but that was at UConn.

I have a regular play on TEXAS TECH at home giving 28 points to Kansas.

I will be back Friday night with the rest of my picks for this weekend in college football.

And as always  - Remember to bet with your head and not over it.

So I guess I hopped on the Army bandwagon a little too fast as they fell to earth on Saturday against Buffalo. They had a 14 point lead late in the 4th and then blew it and Buffalo went on to win in OT, but it is what it is and that's why the call it gambling. Yet another caveat I hope to avoid in the future, premature bandwagon jumping. LOL Once again my regular plays are doing better than my best bets, something I hope to rectify real soon. Below are my college week 4 and season stats. I will update my stats every week during the football season for both college and pros.

WEEK 4 STATS

BEST BETS    1-2 ATS and 2-1 SU

REGULAR PLAYS 4-2 ATS and 6-0 SU

2016 SEASON STATS

BEST BETS          6-7 ATS and 11-2 SU

REGULAR PLAYS  16-9-1 ATS and 21-4-1 SU

I will definitely be back late Wednesday night as I have my eye and a few of the games on Thursday and Friday. I will then be back late Friday night with the rest of my college picks and Saturday night with my NFL picks.

And as always  - Remember to bet with your head and not over it.

I don't know whether the TCU/SMU game went over the total when I posted this but after watching the first quarter it doesn't look good. Right now I am breaking even with my best bets and my regular plays are well in the black. I do like quite a few games this week and a few of them I like a whole bunch. So here are the rest of my picks for week 4 in college football.

BEST BETS

My FIRST BEST BET is on STANFORD on the road spotting UCLA 3 points. I really don't know why this line is so low but if I am missing something, for the life of me I can't see it. Stanford is 7-1 ATS the last 8 meetings, another reason the line confuses me. They also have McCaffrey on their team and a decent quarterback in Ryan who has completed 70% of his passes, and yet only a 3 point spread. I don't know if the oddsmakers are right or I am but I will take the Cardinal minus the points as my first BEST BET.

My NEXT BEST BET is on WASHINGTON on the road giving 11 points to Arizona. I must admit Washington is my team dujour this year, as I really like the Huskies quarterback Jake Browing who has thrown for 12 tds with only 1 pick so far this year. Arizona's qb is more of a running qb and if he can't keep up with Washington the Wildcats are in big trouble and that is what I think will happen. Arizona has a plethora of injuries and that doesn't bode well from them either. I like Washington to get the monkey off their back and beat Arizona in Tucson. So I will lay the 11 and make the Huskies BEST BET.

My LAST BEST BET is on ARMY on the road giving 13 1/2 points to Buffalo. The Cadets (and these are words I don't use alot for an Army team) are on fire this year as they are now 3-0 while the Bulls 0-2 and they lost to Albany, yup that's right Albany. Army's wishbone offense is averaging 47 points on the road so far this year and only giving up 13, a big reason I am backing them. The Black Knights will win this game going away with no threat of a backdoor cover.  I am making Army minus the points my last BEST BET.

REGULAR PLAYS

As for regular plays I like Mississippi at home giving Georgia 7 points. I like Louisville on the road  giving 26 points to Marshall. I like the California/Arizona State game to go over 82. I like Mississippi State  giving UMass 22 points. I like Memphis at home giving 16 1/2 points to Bowling Green. And finally I like Minnesota at home giving 16 points to Colorado State.

Well that's it for this week in college football, I will be back next week with more college picks. I will be back Saturday night with my NFL picks.
